Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate, responsible, and experienced Special Needs Nanny for a temporary, 6-month assignment in Bethesda, MD. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing personalized care and support to a child with special needs, fostering a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. This position requires a patient and empathetic individual who can work closely with the child’s family to promote their well-being and development.
Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one care for a child with special needs.
• Assist with daily routines, including meal preparation, feeding, personal care, and hygiene.
• Engage the child in activities that support their physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Monitor and manage behavior, providing positive reinforcement and redirection as necessary.
• Ensure safety and well-being at all times, both indoors and outdoors.
• Communicate regularly with the family regarding progress, activities, and any concerns.
• Support any therapies or exercises prescribed by the child’s healthcare providers.
• Help with light household tasks related to the child (e.g., tidying up play areas, preparing meals, etc.).

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with children with special needs, preferably in a nanny, caregiver, or childcare role.
• Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR.
• Patient, caring, and empathetic demeanor.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team with the child’s family.
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible.
• Background check required.
